Boris Johnson did not think the nation would vote leave in the EU referendum: he was just posturing with the ERG just to unsettle David Cameron's position as leader of the Tory party. He, Michael Gove and the rest of the Vote Leave mob were visibly staggered when the result was announced. They had no Brexit plan. They just continued to pander to the English nationalist group that is the ERG, and we have arrived where we are in a complete Heath Robinson state. God help us.

There is still more fun to come. Bojo has his majority, he's going to have to deliver the brexit that the people voted for. Problem is, the 17m have 10m versions of brexit that they want so whatever he delivers he will fail to please 'the people'. He was in his element when he could blame others for lack of brexit delivery .. there's no one left to blame now but himself

Question is, will he bend over for the US, the EU or India. He's not going to be able to please them all and keep 'the people' happy

In September, backbenchers took steps again to legislate on a third Article 50 extension. The EU Withdrawal (No.2) Act – the so-called Benn Act – states that if MPs haven’t approved a deal agreed with the EU, or leaving without a deal, by 19 October, the prime minister must send a letter to the EU seeking an extension until 31 January 2020.

On 19 October, MPs passed the Letwin amendment which made clear that MPs would withhold their approval of the Withdrawal Agreement until the Withdrawal Agreement Bill had been passed. As a result, the prime minister wrote to Donald Tusk requesting an extension until 31 January 2020. The EU accepted the UK’s request on 28 October.

The 9 day delay between Tusk receiving the letter and the EU accepting the request didn't help either.

A multi-million pound publicity blitz to prepare the public for leaving the EU appears to have had little impact, a spending watchdog has said.The National Audit Office said £46m was spent on the "Get ready for Brexit" campaign ahead of the UK's expected departure at the end of last October.
But the campaign was halted three days before the UK was supposed to leave after the EU granted another extension.
The NAO said it was "not clear" it left people "significantly better prepared".
But the Cabinet Office, which is in charge of Brexit preparations, said to have not done anything in the run-up to the 31 October deadline would have risked "significant and unnecessary disruption".
The department estimated the campaign reached had 99.8% of the population, with every member of the public having the opportunity to see the range of billboard, print, TV and online adverts 55 times.
