They may well do, but only because they're too embarrassed to say it's because they just watched Trainspotting again...

Although the 100 airport bus is actually cheaper and quicker into the centre of town than the tram...which seems to do a fair chunk of it's route at close to walking pace, especially when it gets into the city

    Where's your flat?

If you mean from Heathrow airport, its best to stay at the Thistle.

A number of my continental guests are usually visiting family here in Edinburgh. Whether Brexit has happened or not we're now seeing an impact. I'd say 20-30% of guest are Brits and the remainder mostly from Europe.

I hope the slack is picked up by some brexiters looking to stay at home.

Why aren’t you taking prepayments in non-refundable tulipcoins?

    It's quite expensive from Munich.

I know. I don't expect many to either. Fake news. It's the way of things these days.

    Let me clear the fug.

Cancellations are future bookings later in the year that were secured sometime ago. Two repeat customers. Family have no reason to visit now because the relation is no longer working in Edinburgh as they'll have moved back to France / Germany. One was uncertain of their status next year post Brexit and got offered a job back home (same company) and the other the company is relocating back to France. One was working in finance the other medicine. Both were Phd's, high earners.

I'm just surprised it's happing in Edinburgh. Don't know if others are observing the same effects, but here and now the impact is real and measurable. Hope the Scottish government do something soon to stop the damage reaching the point of no return.
