For a sizeable minority in the Tory party Brexit is an opportunity for a once-in-a-generation experiment at economic re-engineering to become the US of Europe.
And they have plenty of useful idiots they've manipulated to back them, against their own interests, many of them on this forum.

May willing to cave in and pay the amount that was originally suggested by the EU back in March 2017

    Flashback -
EU suggests Brexit Bill could hit 50 billion

If Britain wants out of the European Union, it should be prepared to pay.
That's the message that EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker delivered on Friday, telling the BBC that Britain will need to pay roughly £50 billion ($62.4 billion) as it leaves the EU
So there we have it, the EU demands 50 billion and the EU gets 50 billion

We can see where the negotiations are heading, just ask Michel Barnier.

Now, tell me again how NEED is the same as WANT and it's just my pedantry
