£50k wouldn't last that long if you wanted a new car and a couple decent holidays, but I suppose for many people it's enough to take a year out and do something new. For women who have relied on their husbands, for example those who stayed at home to raise kids, then £45k is probably enough to mean they could leave and start afresh.
I'd want at least a million to retire

Wooohoo!!!Britons have downgraded their view of how much qualifies as a “life-changing” cash windfall, indicating that contractors with war chests of £50,000 now make the cut.
Oooh F*****CK!!That’s because the survey shows that, while it may not be as likely a response as altering their looks, 45 per cent of women with new found wealth say they’d seek to change their partners.
Warning to all those husband/wife share splitters. Get too much in the company and you are history!!
