Anyone done their own conveyancing. I'm looking for some tips.
Wife and I are buying a commercial property in joint ownership. We had a solicitor but he was dumbfounded by the Flying Freehold and a covenant. So we sacked him.
We've got the local, registry searches going through now. Got a copy of the covenant.
Now the vendor's solicitor is harassing us! Me thinks the problem did not lie with our solicitor but with the vendor's ******.
I've got the forms from land registry and ordered the SDLT form (which you can't download for some reason). Got the contract which seems dead boring standard.
So what next?
Find another lawyer. You really don't want to be dealing in commercial property without one.
