Not worth worrying about.
I did 1 day's consultancy for a mate last year. Agreed a rate by email and then I invoiced and he paid.

Thanks for your replies.
I have a signed off quote so getting paid should be an issue. I was more concerned from an IR35 perspective.
I'll have a look at the PCG website now.

Can't you just do him a quote like a plumber or something would? That would be your contract of work. IR35 is about looking like a hidden permie which as d000hg says isn't an issue for 3 weeks. At least with a formal quotation you have scope and acceptance?Originally posted by d000hg View PostI don't think IR35 is really the issue here, as making sure you actually get paid since you're working on trust. I'd be tempted to get a quick template one sorted as already suggested... or at least a formal email/signed letter.

PCG website has contract templates I believe.Originally posted by wilky27 View PostHi all,
I've just secured 3 weeks work from a mate who is an IT manager at a law firm. He hasn't actually written up a contract. Is this a problem with it only being 3 weeks? Will this land me in bother if I ever get investigated by IR35? If yes to either does anyone know where I can get a simple one drawn up on the cheap?
Thanks in advance,
Wilky.
Bearing in mind it is a law firm and he has access to the IT system can't he <cough> source one for you that you can change
