The words "Shot down in flames" spring to mind.... it does sound like NW did not deserve the OP's complaint.
I've been with NW for several years and I'm mostly happy with them most of the time.
There have been a few mistakes made, which makes me a little paranoid about double-checking everything - something I hardly have time to do. What bothers me most is that I'm not an accountant, maybe some mistakes have made it through the net which I didn't spot. The mistakes I did spot have been relatively minor - but of course, they're only minor because they were spotted and adressed before they became more serious.
I don't want to give an overall negative impression though, because In the main the service is prompt, professional and generally good - and the charges are reasonable.

For my first post I would like to say I am very happy with Nixon Williams.

Further to my earlier post, I have now had chance to fully review your concerns with both your team manager (Alan Jackson) and your account controller.
Although I don't want to go into the full detail of this on a public forum I am more than happy to discuss everything in detail with you either via PM (if admin allow this for you), phone (01253 362000) or email (martin at nixonwilliams.com).
To outline the concerns you have raised, you did indeed requested us to complete a reference for you on 31/08/11 but we stated we could not do this until you provided us with further information, mainly regarding the company bank statements/credit card statements. At no time did Alan state the reference was to be posted out to you (the first time he directly spoke to you was on Thursday) because he advised we were missing information. He did state the dividend paperwork would be posted out which you have confirmed receipt of.
I note that you have only today provided us with the necessary information to complete the reference and already a draft copy of this has been emailed across to you.
I also do not feel you have been given incorrect information by your account controller, we did not have copies of your bank statements so had no way of knowing you had withdrawn funds from the company that we had not been advised of. The starter pack is written to make things as easy to understand as possible but if there is ever anything you are unsure of then just ask.
I hope this clears things up for you.

I have also seen the start-up pack and I would say that its a lesson in plain-English.

I'm sorry to hear you are not happy with the service we have provided. I will discuss this with Alan Jackson, the team manager ultimately responsible for your file, along with your account controller to see what has happended here.

2. Your accountant is not your company's finance director. If you have the inability to understand the your basic legal obligations in running a company then you should not be running one.

I've seen the starter pack and it's not gobbledigook, unless they've rewritten it, and I'm not an accountant.
And this complaint a whole 5 working days after your initial request.
And no visa. Shame...
