and with a bit of discipline (and I'm very good at that ) keeping on top of my accounts I can send my year's company accounts to my accountant one week after year-end.

    Sorry to hear that Noger.

I'm happier to do my own VAT (the control freak in me). It's a doddle since I started using Quickbooks: reconcile your accounts, hit a few buttons and away ya go..

Yes, it all went down hill since goodhaven took over. Slightly worrying that goodhaven was only incorporated in Nov 2005 ?

The first accounts they did were wrong, and when I asked what was going on they said they would "try" to fix it next month.

Managed to speak to a few Indian chaps, who didn't make much sense. They are going to be so slow doing this months accounts that I might not get my VAT return in on time When I mentioned this they didn't seem to bothered.

I will be getting out ASAP.

oh boy, when did this happen. I'm completely out of touch since the move to Italy, spend all my time battling with rogue armenian builders now, but that's another story.

It's hard to believe that Safe Solutions managed to destroy ITAccounting in such a short period of time.

    another qn

How long should it take to close down a company? I advised my accoutant in Aug last year that I wanted to close down and pay all my tax etc. It still hasn't happened - he keeps saying "just another month or so". Can he not just tell me how much I owe, i send that to the tax man then job done?

    Acccountants

Thanks for the recommendations guys, sorry about the Beemer thing, making the most of it while can....BTW, wasn't a new one, 12 month old so lost all the initial depreciation, Beemers are terrible on the depreciation in the first year.

And the charges won't be going up to accomodate the motor!!

Hey Kimera, yeah your right but from my experience so far Darren might be an exception to the rule (unless he drives like an a##).

Would recommend him, havent been with 1stAccountancy long however all my queries so far (and there have been a lot) have been answered promptly and clearly and if i dont understand what he;s on about (im not a number cruncher, i went into IT not accountancy!!) the phone support is good. Also seems like value for money...

Hmm wonder if i can get commission on recommendations....

i must admit the BMW factor puts me off using him. They are usually driven by c0cks! (no offense)
