Wow, that was a good run. If they don't need you any more then thank them very much and move on.

I presume you were earning considerably more than the equivalent permie?

Stevieb03 unless you are on a fixed term contract which from the sounds of it you are not, then you are in a business to business relationship with the client. This means it's as malvolio says.

BTW Budgets for work come to an end whether it's takes 4 weeks, 4 months or 4 years. I always try and find out the budget or timescale that the client wants me for.

Let me highlight the relevant points in your post to make it clearer. Ignore the rest of the blurb.

I would guess from this you have been working firmly in IR35 and you have been declaring as such? You will be going for a perm job next?

Reminds me of that guy that worked for HP for 8 years and then tried to do them for unfair dismissal a few years back. Had a good chortle at that. Bet all the contractors left there were pleased with him

Despite appearances, you're still a contractor and only have the rights written into your contract. Nothing went wrong, they just don't need you any more.

Hi everybody...

Great forum and I wish I had found this sooner

I have a question regarding my current position...
I have been in a contract now with the same company for 4 years... I got a call completely out of the blue giving me 2 weeks notice for contract termination.

After picking myself up and trying to find what went wrong (still can't find an answer) I was wondering if I have any rights as I have been there for so long?

My contract always stated 1 weeks notice either way, and the company would never change it!
