Depends. Are you fairly comfortable right now or do you need the work?

In my experience, I don't sign contracts I'm not happy with and have had many amendments made in the past. There's been the odd occasion when a contract has fallen through because the agent would not amend it, but there's been other things around.

That's just me though...

Get the agency to make the changes recommended by whomever did the review. Generally, depending on who you used, they will either talk to the agent on your behalf (e.g. Bauer & Cotterell do this) or they will tell you which clauses need changing and to what.

This has been my experience anyway.

Hi

Could some experienced contactors offer some advice here please ...

I took a contract 2 or so years ago with a client, after a few months I set up a Ltd as accountants advised I was outside ir35 and there were many contractors doing the same at the client place.

I took several extensions. I always intended to move around but obviously 2009 meant I was just grateful of a job.I've now been offered another with the same client (different agency) as well as another contract with a competitor. I was concerned about the legal position of staying but otherwise happy to.

I had a full contract and engagement review done which said my new contract falls down on several clauses although my working practises sound legitimate. the other contract also is inside.

I was surprised by this and now am trying to get contacts amended with agencies. Does anyone have any experience of this? What should I do to protect myself and should I change and operate inside ir35 or at least hike up my paye? I know other contractors with these agencies/ clients operate outside and my accountant said the contract was outside. Any advice would be gratefully received.
