Just to put the record straight B & C’s service is unique as once all necessary amendments have been identified we negotiate on your behalf with your agency or end client to seek amendment to the contract and we enjoy a 99% success rate. Once complete we provide two different levels of report – a simple pass or fail for £145 plus VAT or a more detailed report for £175 plus VAT. Our turnaround time is 5 working days but we will review and negotiate contracts on an immediate basis where necessary at no extra charge. Our opinion on contracts is accepted by Abbey Tax, Caunce O’Hara and Qdos for insurance purposes and we are currently working about 100 IR35/Status cases.

I've only ever used an agency contract once when i was working through a brolly and so wasn't effected by IR35. Since then i've not even asked to look at the clients/agents contract and just stuffed my own standard (QDOS based) contract infront of them.

Do you all wait until your contract is sorted before starting. What happens if the agency won't amend the contract has anyone experienced this.

I'm on my first LTD co contract (with parasol before). I assume it is caught by IR35 but am tempted to get it checked out.
I never start work without an agreed contract - I tell the agents that up front, so there is an incentive to get it sorted. I also tell agents that I'll accept the contract verbally, but I don't stop talking to other agencies until I have a signed contract agreed.

If the agency doesn't change the clauses, then I walk away - it's not worth my while to accept an IR35 contract when there are plenty of others out there that aren't IR35 caught. Typically, they agree the changes though.

B & C have a very quick turnaround time if you need a contract reviewed in a hurry. Highly recommended.

Don't start a new gig before you've had the contract checked and are happy because simply turning up at the clients and starting work will usually have the same effect as signing the contract. I.e shows acceptance of the contract.

Yes, although it isn't normally something that is necessary. With the free assessments we wouldn't enter into lengthy correspondence with the agent, but would be happy to make a phone call or two. That's usually enough.

We also offer a full, detailed review service for £85 + VAT.

We have Lawspeed and Accountax to do the representation, supported by Abbey Tax who actually provide the cover. Never really sure how they are allocated, presumably on a case-load basis.
