It's always possible I am getting one of the login details wrong and they simply give a default response, since it's bad security to tell a user what they got wrong!
Helpdesk it is, ugh.. at least I have all the information to hand they could ask for, wonder if I will be able to get through?!

Weird that. I believe they deactivate all accounts not used for three years now but if that happens you just register again and it will pick up where you left off. That's the theory anyway. I wonder if you can't re-register then it's not been deactived for this reason.

HRMC Online - can't get in to organisation account
I have 2 separate HMRC Government Gateway logins - one for my personal tax and one for my business.
I haven't used the business one for ages and cannot get in. The ID I have written down gets me an "account deactivated" message when I try to use it, so I tried to create a new login using my business UTR + company number, only to be told "this is already registered to another account".
Has anyone else faced this? I'm not sure how I'm supposed to sort it out and how much hassle it is likely to be.
