HMRC are unbelievable!
Online chat:-
"So why are you telling me I owe £1500 when the latest tax return from january says you owe me?"
"We haven't got an amended return from january"
Its on their portal. I can download it from there. I've got a submission receipt.
"Oh I can't see it - I'll have to escalate this to another department 6-8 weeks it'll take"
You've got to be kidding me!
Mrs had similar the other day:-
"Wheres the repayment I requested a month ago?" Again, got a receipt.
"Ah it was blocked"
"Why was it blocked and was anyone going to tell me or let me wait forever?"
"Dunno but if you do it again it'll work - take 10 days or up to 6 weeks"
