QDOS just came back to me and quoted the exact same link, without advising directly whether it's an allowable expense or not as they are not accountants.

No, but they have a very close association with one. QDOS Accounting offer a range of services, including one that uses YourCo...

I asked my accountant many years ago if I could put this sort of insurance through the books and it was a clear no - was one of the major contractor accountancy firms we all use. Never tried since and always paid for it myself.
