    I just switched to Gorilla (Freeagent accountant). So for so good. They are as good a price as you'll get and they know what they're doing.
    If you're worried about spending £700 extra per year, for quality service, then you're in the wrong business and should go back to permiedom.

    I'd agree with NorthernLad, especially in your first year down this road. You'll have loads of questions and will want advice and tax planning as you go.

    Personally I'd be recommending monthly payroll which you can set up as a standing order (good for cashflow) then take dividends infrequent.

    Nope. Sounds like a car crash to me. Go for a contractor specialist that offers Freeagent. You are going to be making 100k a year. Spending 100 quid on an accountant with the best tool around at the moment is a no brainer.

    Newbiew looking for advice

    Hello all

    I have just started a contract role after so many years on permie so am new to some stuffs . First I am engaging the services of a local accountant in my area whom was referred by a friend anyways.

    The local accountant was going to be charging me one off yearly fee £350 to help sort out things like self-assessment, annual returns and HMRC queries while I will be doing my VAT returns.

    Idea is to get an online software to help me keep on my toes at the minute and I am looking at Kashflow as an option due to price and the user friendly interface – much better than QB.

    Does this sound reasonable and logical ? I don’t intend to do monthly payroll thinking when I do yearly return I can work out with accountant min salary + NIC and then remit what is due during that time.

    Please let me know your thoughts
