    ^^THIS^^

To answer the question directly though, with cash accounting the tax 'date' is when the cash arrives.

To answer the unasked question why don't you just do this?

You may have to do one more VAT return but that's surely less paperwork.

If you're next few returns are zero owed then maybe you have. To cease trading you'll need to scrap your LTD (or are you sole trader?).
I'm sure there's a lot more to what you're asking though and the VAT man will want to know more as well.
    I am not sole trader.

I will not be generating any more invoices from the company and there is no pending invoices. Once the VAT is deregistered, I will close the company....

I have generated the last invoice on 29 July 2016 and received this invoice in my bank on 29-Aug-2016. Which date is the right date to write in this box?

If I write 29/07/206, Then I will be over 30 days limit which HMRC allows to de-register. Will this cause any problems?

Thanks for reading and appreciate your expert opinion.

If your accountant can't answer your question, why not ring 0300 200 3700 or 03000 523 234 and see if they can?
