If any company is limited check that you can get the director(s) home address details from Companies House. Also do a search on the director's name to see how many current and previous companies they are linked with. There are various services on the web that show these links for free.
It is also your personally need to take responsibility to confirm anything an accountant says is legal. Thanks to the web this isn't hard to do if you do a bit of reading.
Finally if your accountant asks you to do something which seems illogical e.g. pay money to HMRC to them instead of directly to HMRC find one of the many small business/accountancy forums search them and ask whether this is normal.

igloo accounting
I have heard that their other companies think and newwave are both under investigation with hmrc after looking on some other forums it seems a lot of drivers have been ripped off by these cowboys.
They are operating as a managed service provider so all the drivers that are registered with them get huge tax bills of hmrc as though they were just on paye

Just had a wee rummage about some other fora and this would appear to be correct. MSC legislation has been ignored and HMRC have got wind. Any driver registered at HMRC as a client of Igloo can expect a letter from HMRC.
There are a couple of other issues that seem to be at play but I'm not keen to talk about unsubstantiated matters on an open forum.
I'm not sure how much good you'll do posting on here though. Igloo seems to be fully involved with contract drivers.

Just received letter from hmrc regarding unpaid tax of £3600.00. Rang hmrc, and according to them igloo/new wave accounting are doing everything wrong. Expenses shouldn't be claimed ie travel to and from work, washing of work gear etc, only the purchase of specialised work gear can be claimed. They can also not act as an MSC (managed service company). This peiece of legislation has been in effect since 2010 and igloo/new wave knew about this.
