Only true if you found the business and engaged the agency. If you did, then it's up to you to negotiate a mark up rather less than 16%; in fact rather less than 6% would be closer to reality.

If you didn't, it's the agency's money and you get some of it; 85.7% to be precise (I hope...). As long as you think the agency is pocketing your money, rather than you pocketing theirs, you will always be upset.

If you had said "mark up" originally then we wouldn't be where we are now.

The HTH's are just pent up sarcasm waiting to be released once the elections are done with.

Hint: Google margin vs. mark up.

    HTH.

If it was down to IPSE they would of kindly negotiated with the agencies on our behalf minimum wage deals..

My contract with a well-known oil company was quite funny. Apparently the agency didn't go through the right channels to land me or something and ended up being forced to accept the client paying them only 2% for my services.

Not even then, if I'm still getting the top of / above market rates. Sure, the client would be getting ripped off in that case, but not by me.

But, again, I'm happy with the rate I took - I'll just be pleased to take a higher rate if I can.

Also got to do the maths. Another couple of weeks in the bench hoping for a higher rate doesn't always work out as you planned.
I don't like it when Agencies use this tactic to draw punters in knowing full well this was a deliberate 'mistake'

I also accepted a renewal so was just keeping my options open.

Granted if I was on the bench then I may have a slightly different thought, but I don't like agencies who deceive
