If this “Norris” is “Futurelink” then I suggest caution.

Friend of mine used a contractor tax scheme called Talent Resource Management (TRM) run by Futurelink. They shut down Talent Resource Management and now my buddy has tax investigation from HRMC and there is no Talent Resource Management in existence any more to defend it.

Read that thread in full you’ll see two other schemes mentioned (Cherrylon and Trentburg) that have been shut down and left contractors in the lurch. Also, posts #155 to #158 seem to indicate that TRM, Cherrylon and Trentburg are all Futrelink (follow this link) http://forums.contractoruk.com/hmrc-...chemes-16.html

Looks like Futurelink has shut down three contractor solutions and left contractors in the lurch. Hope you stayed clear of this Norris thing.

Thanks for the feedback, I've decided to not go ahead with this now I know what is going on.

I don't really want to advertise the accountant but I found this and thought you may find it interesting; hope it explains why I thought it was fine

The one thing on there that would make it anything other than 'fine' is the QC opinion - if you come across anything like this again ask to see the opinion - it will either say or

I didn't mean to cause a problem Cojak, sorry if I've broken one of the forum rules. I only asked on this forum instead of General because it was an accountant who put me in touch with them and I was under the impression it was a normal thing now; like I said in my first post, I'm a little out of the loop.

Care to name the accountant?

I think this may be why the accountant is recommending:

"Do you know high Net worth, specialist individuals who provide their services to their clients on a contract basis and may benefit from employment with Norris?
Perhaps you are an IFA or an accountant whose clients are looking for a better return on their contract income?
Whatever the case may be Norris would like to engage with you to assist these individuals. Whether you recommend one, or multiple contractors to Norris, who then go on to register and payroll, we will arrange an Introducer fee for you for each recommendation you make.
The Introducer fee is payable as follows:
10% of the Net fees Norris earns for the contractor are payable to the Introducer for a maximum period of 12 months (if the contractor is still operating via Norris at this time).
5% of the Net fees Norris earns for the contractor from month 13 to month 24 are payable to the Introducer (if the contractor is still operating via Norris at this time).
Introducer fees will cease after month 24 for that particular contractor.

Notes:
There is no limit to the number of contractors an Introducer can recommend to Norris at any one time.
The Introducer does not need to have operated with Norris to recommend contractors.
Full terms available upon request"
