You missed the option "Costs will go off the scale and it will never be completed"

The Tories may be in by then (mind you isn't Seb Coe running it now?), so obviously it will be a fantastic success.
I remember the good old days of this site when people used to moan about serious contractor related issues like house prices and immigration. How times have changed!?

They'll have it ready in time but only by paying 3 times the original estimate.

It's a contractors dream. Govt. sponseored mission critical project with little to no advance costing and a deadline that absolutely cannot be missed. Licence to print money for all involved.

I predict that it will be completed and on time. However I don't expect it to be anywhere close to the price quoted and possibly not fully to spec (less than)

Something that big and with the international aspect, I don't think anybody could not let it happen on time, and in true govt tradition they will simply throw our money at it, probably via a big consultancy company to 'project manage' the whole fiasco.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

            I preferred version 1!

But we can expect that, six weeks before the start of The Games, the electricians will go on strike.
