Girly is not intersted in going down to Arran (where I used to live).

I think she is holding out for Gleneagles.
Why don't you take her someplace nice?

It is trying to find a compromise between my obvious tightness and her liking of upmarket hotels.

Gleneagles will be 250->300 a room for a night then 6 or 7 quid a pint.

I know that - it's the other side of the loch from the village, as you're heading towards the Rest and be Thankful? Some lovely walking and diving around there.

Nope, it's on the same side of the loch as the village, turn left at the church.

I nearly bought the cottage on the other side of the loch near Ardgarten.

And lovely it is too but there's now conditions on buying in Arrochar because it's in the national park, you've got to live and work there. I've suggested in the past putting myco base there...would seem to have the desired effect.

                    When are you going up?
