I have given you reasoned and supported argument. If you prefer to suck up to the bottom lovers that that is fine. Expect society to become more fractured, more unbalanced with greater juvenile delinquancy. For thousands of years our society has been based on the family, but now you want to enshrine in law the means to undermine those values. Same for christian values, these are the things that have provided our moral framework, our ideals, our aspirations.

I remember an interview on R4 with an old guy who fought in WW2. He was in a church in France to say prayers asking God to let them win. He asked the priest what the flowers in the church were for. He said that when the village was in German control, the Germans had held a service asking God to help them win. Needless to say the absurdity of that event caused him to lose his faith. I can understand having a faith, but the sort of blind intolerant bigoted Christianity from some Christians is nothing more than the embodiment of their own wishes, and prejudices. Same for Islam and Judaism.

The evidence of the danger of gay marriage is splashed over the papers, the prurient pleasure these people get in their story smacks of exhibitionism. I am not prejudiced against gay sex just its endorsement by the state in the form of "marriage". That is not a blind prejudice, just a belief that it just political correctness and panders to the egos of those who seek pleasure from perversion. Let them have their pleasure - I fail to see the benefit of a state sponsored legal contract between two gay people. If they want to do something privately that's fine.
