They clearly are natural. Where else did they come from if not nature? Shameful? A bit subjective, that one.Originally posted by DundeegeorgeHomosexual passions and acts are unnatural, shamefulComment

Is homosexuality hereditary? Do they get straight sexual urges every now and again, in order to promulgate their homosexual genes?Originally posted by expatThey clearly are natural.Comment

Don't know. Maybe we've all got them. Many homosexuals have heterosexual relationships.Originally posted by wendigo100Is homosexuality hereditary? Do they get straight sexual urges every now and again, in order to promulgate their homosexual genes?
It is possible that people who are strongly heterosexual also carry "homosexual genes". The right combination of heterosexual parents might produce a homosexual child.
But that wasn't what I meant about "natural" or otherwise. I meant, if someone says that homosexuality is "unnatural", what do they mean by that? That it was caused by some force outside of nature? Like what?
Of course I know what they usually mean: it is a subjective value judgment, corresponding to the speaker's own definition of "right" and "wrong", but he doesn't want to come out and say so, he wants to imply that the whole of Nature shares his moral scheme.Comment

I understand it to mean abnormal sexual orientation, i.e. desire for something you can not procreate with.Originally posted by expatI meant, if someone says that homosexuality is "unnatural", what do they mean by that?
In that sense only, homosexuality is like sheep shagging, and possibly kiddie fiddling.
I might be wrong though, I am not a psychologist or a biologist.Comment

Quite expat. Nothing we do in modern life is natural, if natural matters we should be out grubbing in the ground with our bare hands for food, why single out sex for this daft "natural" argument?
I don't think the boundaries are nearly as fast as most like to think. Why do you get more gay behaviour in male places like prisons, boarding schools etc? Do more gays go to those places? Much more likely that normally straight blokes prefer the second choice to nothing. In many it isn't a hard straight/gay thing, it's a range of preference.bloggoth

No, gay sex is unnatural because it a bastardisation of the heterosexual union. It cheapens the act of reproduction into an act of self-satisfaction. It serves no purpose other than as a poor imitation of the ubiquitous male-female union. It is a a sham: it hides a deep physcological flaw that confuses the act of copulation with love. Men or women can have friends and love those friends without being gay. Gay people are defined purely by the simulated act of reproduction that they pursue. It is somewhat sad that people who are defined by their sexual preference cannot actually benefit from its purpose.Comment

Right. So all heterosexual sex is about love is it and never just about sexaul satisfaction?? What world do you live in? Utter bloody drivel. Dipstick.
PS With 6 billion people in the world the natural purpose of sex is the very last thing we should want to see fulfilled.Last edited by xoggoth; 20 December 2005, 09:38.bloggoth

Whoops, an explanation then
By unnatural (I don't know if this is what JobbyWanker means) I meant biologically unnatural. Subjective, well, tell me something that isn't subjective in the field of relationships.Originally posted by expatThey clearly are natural. Where else did they come from if not nature? Shameful? Of course gay sexual desires are unnatural. Otherwise the human being would be designed differently. That is simple biology.
You need to understand that accepting it is unnatural is not the same as condemning it, or saying that it doesn't happen.Comment
