It would be nice if some of you could show a bit more respect for different religions. Diwali is a time of celebration for a good many people in this country and I really used to enjoy it (when I was living in a more tolerant part of the country).

Last couple of days my neighbour has had tea lights and pictures on the floor tiles outside his door in our shared lobby (I'm in a flat). Looked quite charming and last night he was nice enough to ask me if I minded.

Used to read loads of mythology as a boy and Indian myth and legend was brill, better than boring Greek/Roman, not quite as good as Norse though. Arjuna the bowman, born a women became a man, can't recall if it said how. And there was a hundred years war, or was it a thousand? forget now but lots of slaying.

Perhaps you should re-read this thread.

I read it. Drawing a comparison between "Bob Shawadiwadi" (a lying, incompetent off-shorer) and Hindus/Sikhs in this country is unfair. Bob is a figure of fun.
