At the conference I was at last week, in a room of 200 IT professionals, during a discussion on whether to build a wiki for professional knowledge management, one stood up and said:
"I am a university lecturer. We have directed our students that they are forbidden from using any form of wiki. Wikipedia, as everyone knows, is riddled with errors and should be taken down."
I wonder if this was one of those universities that closed its library or dismissed all its librarians because Google was better? Like Bangor university did a few years back. Bangor University laid off all its professional library staff. (Except the Law Librarian because she was employed directly by the Law School.)
