Was watching spooks and waiting for the explosions, when the phone rings.
My niece was round at her Dad's house, she could smell gas from outside. She opened the door and the smell was awful.... she called me (Dad was out)... Straight on the phone to the emergency call out number, hops in the car pick her and her 3 year old son up.
Back to ours, wait for callout man, he turns up, major split in the gas supply, sorted it out and the house was safe to go in.

Being as it was dark I would have lit a match so I could see the source of the leak.......
