      No, the actual church in the parish is no longer in existence. we merely made a donation to the church and got a release. the church had sold off the land for development. They were not the leaseholders anymore, but the conditions and some tithe thing still tied the property to the church.
      They didn't seem that interested so I had my solicitor chuck them a £200 donation for a letter of release. it took 3 weeks to get it sorted though.

            Sounds a good idea - I bet the insuance would have been that much anyway.

            I see that chap who bought all those mediaval fedal things lost his court case recently - about time the courts applied some common sense.
