I grew up in Salisbury, which is a terribly middle class area, but there was a "The Rising Sun" there which was exactly a spit 'n' sawdust 'n' fighting pub.

It has long been demolished now though.

I dug some up & sold them to a nursery... the chap was ever so pleased.
