has long since been abandoned by the people who thought they could make a fortune out of providing web counters, and has been snapped up by devious criminals.

They use it to serve a piece of code which can embed nastiness in the long-abandoned page with the out-of-date information...

... or, more subtly, grab any cookies they can get their hands on, which they can then use to gain access to places they shouldn't and disseminate their evil Trojans, malware, spyware and general horrid things.

Now that's quite interesting (what's it doing in TPD???)

So, in theory, they should want to be there then.

Guy I was at uni with was only there because his dad told him he had to go.

First term, he made it to three lectures.

Failed 15 out of the 16 modules.

And they offered him the chance to repeat the year.

But he just went home and said "I tried, dad".
