Rather than mirrored.
That way the filmy bit touched the board, and avoided inaccuracies due to refraction.

We had problems with 90 degree corners because the acid got trapped there, particularly serious on 10 thou tracks. Until we upgraded our home-brew CAD software, we had to post-process little 45 degree chamfers into the plot files.
