Who'd have thunk (without RTFM which I didn't have & the esteemed customer does) that an "int" would be 8 bits long in the CCS compiler?



Apparently you have to define it as "int16" to make sure you get more than 8 bits & less than 17 bits.

The other thing that's really getting to me, apart from the indifference of the majority of esteemed customers to actually doing anthing, is the increasing political correctness.

I'm not a PC type of lizard, really.

When your esteemed customers have other options of drinking, smoking cannabis, shagging, orgies, night clubs, ecstasy, etc etc etc, education would be the last thing on their minds.

It's been like pulling teeth on this project.

Earlier in the week "we" discovered that the reason an external EEPROM didn't work was because it didn't have any power supply or ground connections.

Why?

Coz the breadboard has clearly indicated breaks in the rails.

Ho hum.

Zeity also knows that the gaps mean that the left hand blue & red lines ain't connected to the right hand blue & red lines if you don't put little bits of wire to bridge the gap.
