Think I'm on the mend. Have just blasted the lurgie with a chili con carne with added jalapenos. My eyes are streaming, mouth burning and I've a feeling that the phrase "through the eye of a needle" may be in use later

I must have been in FORTRAN mode where everything is passed by reference &
