Just to make my joy complete, yesterday's monsoon revealed that two of the joints on my newly re-erected guttering have leaks.

Once it's dry again, it's up on the scaffold with the rtv sealant gun.

Think I'm on the mend. Have just blasted the lurgie with a chili con carne with added jalapenos. My eyes are streaming, mouth burning and I've a feeling that the phrase "through the eye of a needle" may be in use later

Instead of

 Read_SPI( buffer );

I should have had

 buffer = Read_SPI( buffer);

which became clear on a) reading the assembler output and b) reading the so called manual.

It's now doing something more sensible.

I must have been in FORTRAN mode where everything is passed by reference &

SPI_read( SPI_chr )

would have made perfect sense.
