I bought myself a handheld GPS thingy yesterday, just for fun - one of these
So I'm now going to work out how to convert GPX files to KML files, so I can build a tool allowing me to import and export routes to and from Google Earth
I daresay somebody else has already done this, but it'll be fun to do it myself

The GPS thingy's software is Windows-only at the moment (although they do promise Mac support some time in the future), so I've just fired up a Windows virtual machine
I have a pristine XP image sitting on an external hard drive - when I need to run a particular bit of Windows software, but don't want any other applications, I just make a copy of it, and install precisely what I need - no bloat, and it runs wonderfully fast
