The idea was that the whole team would sit down and spend a couple of hours bug-hunting as a group - basically, an excuse to break each other's toys. We'd do it through lunch, with sandwiches provided.
First problem: sandwiches from Pret, full of crap like salad and mayonnaise
FFS people, a sandwich is made of bread, meat and bread - you can take your fancy garbage with its foreign names, goo and vegetable matter and stick it
However things then started looking up, once it was found that the room's network connection couldn't cope with everybody connecting through a ten-port hub
Even better, the development server chose this point to fall over, due to the fact that so many people had checked in conflicting configuration changes immediately before the meeting
So, after an hour of mucking about, we adjourned, and I was able to go and get a proper lunch
Then they got the server sorted out, and I spent a very pleasant afternoon... mainly because I pulled my usual stunt of copying a couple of paragraphs off the BBC Arabic News page, pasting them into a form, and submitting it. This caused such chronic malfunction that I was able to just sit back and watch other people poking at database configurations for the next hour or so
