It's distinctly odd how the slower machines seem to last longer... must be less stress on the electrons or something.

When I worked for Age Concern in the eighties, it seemed to me that the ones who lived longest were either firebrands ("so I phoned them up straight away and told them 'I don't care what your computer says...'") and the laid-back ones ("It's obviously a mistake, but it'll all get sorted out eventually").

The ones who fretted about stuff but "didn't like to cause a fuss" soon found themselves absolved of all earthly worries...

A friend of mine did rocket science, with real rockets, for his A Level Physics project, until they found out that his propellant was banned under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
