Is there a free way of reducing the size of an animated gif without losing the animation?

Yes - using Jasc Animation Shop (comes with Paint Shop Pro), you can optimize the image to remove colour levels and resize the image.

I had to resize my current one last night. If you're really stuck, I can have a go if you want.

I have a copy of paintshop pro lying around somewhere at home so will give that a go. Cheers.
