I am strongly attracted to my friend’s boyfriend’s brother, and the feeling is mutual. I have never met him, and have communicated with him only through MSN Messenger and phone calls, but my friend has met him and says that he is nice. I am wondering how best to approach him when we do finally meet, as I am incredibly nervous and clumsy. Should I just hug him and say, “Hi”, or is something more required? I’m afraid that I’ll fall over him and put him off me for life.

In the olden days, having a physical relationship used to mean so much more than simply meeting someone face to face. Still, let’s not get overly nostalgic: nerves struck back then, too. I used to find a tot of rum was an excellent way of bracing the nerves, and was never without a hip flask. Whipping it out was always an icebreaker and helped with all kinds of physical relations. I remember the mortgage broker was most surprised and thought it might be against his code of practice. We got on famously in the end, even if the endowment was considerably less than he promised.

A CONVICTED drink driver was being blamed last night for killing seven people, including himself, when he crashed head-on into an oncoming car while trying to overtake on a country road.

Those killed in the car struck by Jason Brain, 35, included two grandparents on their way home from bingo and their daughter. Their two young grandchildren were critically injured.

All four of those in Brain’s car, including his 15-year-old daughter, were killed.

The crash was described by Gloucestershire police as the worst in living memory in their county.

The two children, aged 9 and 10, were the only survivors of the crash.

It emerged that Brain had fled the scene of a crash on the same stretch of the A429 between Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold eight years ago.

On that occasion, he was found to be twice the drink-drive limit and was banned for five years. He was also convicted of driving with no insurance and without due care and attention.

Inspector Olly Lamb of Gloucestershire police said: “We have never had so many people killed in one road crash before,” he said.

And then you have those plastic tie strips used to secure the product to the box. By the time you’re past those the child is 28 years old.

So, what’s to be done? Well, amazingly you are legally allowed to remove all the packaging in the shop and leave it on the counter. But this will infuriate those stuck behind you in the queue. Or you could refuse to buy anything that has been packaged, but I fear that pretty soon you’d be naked and starving.

So how’s this for a plan? Companies should be fined if any of their branded litter is found on the street. This would soon encourage them to remove all unnecessary packaging. And if they found that impossible, they’d have to ensure their products were sold only to people intelligent enough to dispose of the waste properly.

I’m pretty certain that if this scheme were introduced we’d have the makers of milk chocolate Bounty, Flora margarine and Kentucky Fried Chicken out of business inside a week.
Are we going on a copy-paste-post frenzy today BP.
