Holy carp, Joy Division are good...
I actually typed "carp" on purpose there... I'm being conditioned by CUK
My mate Kevin Hewick hasn't shown up on this programme yet... although I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC emailed him asking "Will you be in our documentary?" and he just deleted it
He really doesn't care about anything except the music he's creating now, and I don't think he has done for years.
I remember one night he was playing (I was the barman and the landlord, Dave, was doing the sound) and he got annoyed because some punters had been talking loudly to each other throughout his gig.
At the end of one song (and, it transpired, his tether) he adjusted his various effect pedals and such so that they played a very impressive feedback-based cacophony of about three seconds duration over and over again, laid down his guitar, and left.
Dave carefully adjusted the mixers to ensure that the PA didn't get out of control.
The audience sat there, expecting the weird noise to end and be followed by an encore.
After a couple of minutes, Dave went to find out where he was.
He discovered that Kevin had walked out of the building, flagged down a cab, and departed, having told one of the staff that he'd be back tomorrow for his guitar, pedals, amps, and coatLast edited by NickFitz; 3 February 2008, 04:03.Comment
