Leicester has a Town Hall Square, with fountains. Not a lot to eat there, though

The centre of the city has a Clock Tower, which is a popular place to get stabbed on a Saturday night.

I remember the clock tower - my m8 had an office near there. I had to collect PCs from there. This was during recession of 2002.

Afraid it is the only time I have been to Leicester!

I would imagine so... virtually everything here is tourists only at this time of night... any English people are probably in Mcdonalds (which I can also see from here)

Still, I know a most pleasant hostelry just far enough off the beaten track to have character, yet only a minute's walk from here. I think I'll go there and drink... drink to forget... to forget that I haven't had any dinner

4. Do not eat in an Angus or Aberdeen Steakhouse - these places have almost legendary status - as being frequeted by non-Londoners only. Food is so poor it's laughable, you have to pay a table cover charge and remember it's in Leicester Square. I believe the adjectives most commonly used are "abysmal", "execrable" and "extortionate"
