But not as good as Wigan Pier

A few years ago my wife & I made a trip to Wigan by narrowboat just to see this famous pier. I had done no research beforehand so did not know what to expect.

I genuinely expected to end up at the seaside, to moor up just before the sea-dock and to walk along to the front to the pier.

When my wife called out "There it is!" and pointed, the whole trip became one of the high points of my life.

I am SO glad I went to see Wigan Pier. I am even more glad I did not know what to expect.
