TPD used to be pure drivel based. Now it's a bit more of a chat room environment. I don't think there is a definitive answer - my feeling was that EC was disrupting more than just TPD, and it was a pre-emptive strike before it went too far. I think it could have been LMI or Duder, but not sure.

I will put up anything I get back from ferret - also his flu seems to have got the better of him again - quite upsetting.

Are you familiar with Matt Cutts from the anti-spam team at Google? He offers a lot of useful advice from the horse's mouth about avoiding penalties incurred by dodgy SEO techniques - it's worth following his blog.

Indeed - TPD is the happy place. Anything deliberate that disrupts the status quo (e.g. thread deletion, too much swearing that might result in moderation, etc.) should be strongly discouraged - TPD is a self-policing state, though, so there is very little or no outside moderation.

Was interested that your Christmas message mentioned the 'drugs thread' that you found disturbing although you never elaborated what re it disturbed you??
