i'd never read it before. quilp is fantastic! what a character! a bitter, twisted, violent dwarf who drinks and smokes to excess, maltreats everyone, revels in dark and danger. his singular aim in life being to destroy peoples lives. he comes to a deserving end of course.Comment

Morning denizens
Just made it into the office to find the place virtually deserted. Wasn't sure what was going on (can 800 people all stop for Christmas this early?) then remembered that ClientCorp's head honcho for Europe has an All Hands thingy going on.
Shame I missed it; they're holding it at the theatre that's currently got Avenue Q on, so standing up there with the set around him, he'll look rather a muppet
(No offence, Gonzo )
They'll all be back in about an hour and then it's back to business as usual - this consists mainly of squealing elasticated monkeys being catapulted about the room and people being hit over the head with inflatable mallets. Just another day...Comment

more unique though is swiveler who is a rare character for dickens in that he is actually rounded. he's both good and bad. more good than bad in the end but still. makes a change from the usual goody goody two shoes and the slimy devious merchant bankers.Comment
