I want them to dig a big hole in my road again and close it. The only time they finished roadworks early and I didn't want them to. It was fun watching kiddies play football just in front of the roadworks.

This afternoon has been mainly dedicated to driving, with trips to the barber's and B&Qs (plural) thrown in for light relief.
It was a woman I've not seen before at the barber's; I suspect she only works early in the week and, for some reason, I almost always have my hair cut later in the week. Anyway, I got there when she was just starting in on a family incorporating a bloke and two boys, with the wife there for moral support and childcare. They were clearly all friends because she took absolutely ages over them, due to constantly chatting.
Once I finally escaped, I headed out to the neighbouring town of Wigston Magna. Over thirty years ago I worked at Age Concern there, but the aim of my visit was not nostalgia but the smallish B&Q there, which had the drawers I wanted for the kitchen in stock, while the big one here didn't. So I got my drawers, and also a small wall cabinet I wanted for some shelf space over the existing worktop on the long wall I've just finished painting (or, at least, am not going to paint any more).
And then it was back into the big city and right across to the opposite side of it for the big B&Q, which had the doors and drawer fronts I now needed, having got the drawers, which weren't in stock at Wigston
And then home again, where I got to cart it all in from the car to the hall, then from the hall up the stairs, and finally into the flat, where I will no doubt adapt my behaviour to skirt around all the boxes and not actually do anything with any of it for ages
All in all, quite a productive afternoon. And although it had gone grey and a bit chilly when I set out, the sun is now back and it's even warmed up a bitComment

I'm wondering if it's safe for me to do exercise. I'm sober but everything is really difficult...
