Got a new charger - 8A RMS, or some such; more importantly, unlike the old thing, it's automatic, so I don't have to be so paranoid about leaving the battery on charge overnight, should that prove necessary again. I was half-convinced the old one was somehow going to set fire to the place, or possibly cause an explosion, despite there being no evidence for this from past usage

Well thank feck that's over.
I'm in with the hoi polloi in the Library.
They're open until 19:00 on a Friday.
Because they used to open on Saturday afternoon but that stopped & this started instead.
This is the first time in about 10 or more years that I've used it.Comment

Catch you later.

Hence the ZeitToyotaCorollaBatteryCharger(tm) that switches off as it approaches full charge and on again when it drops to 12.4V or so.Comment

Tea, this evening, consisted of the sarnies left over from lunch, plus the remains of the crinkle cut crisps, all washed down with two mugs of Glengettie tea, though made with teabags rather than the preferred leaf tea.
There were vast quantities of food left at the hotel this afternoon though.Comment

There's always the chance the battery's knackered by having been left drained too much for too long, but we'll see once the new charger's had a chance to do a proper jobComment
