My back's been playing up like a thing that plays up tonight

If I had my way we'd only have fronts. But not really because then we'd just be like slugs but worse, and let's face it, even people who are willing to eat snails don't like slugs

So, returning to the subject: do people who eat "escargot" (which is just an obfuscatory term for snails) eat slugs? And if not, why not? They're exactly the same things.

In fact, do those who pay through the nose for "escargot" in poncey French restaurants know whether or not their "escargot" are snails, or just slugs that have been served with recycled snail shells? And how can they be sure?
