    Morning denizens

Had a rubbish night's sleep. Couldn't drop off for ages, then kept waking again. I think the light summer duvet isn't enough any more

    Anyway, sunny out

I had some sort of nightmare.

      Managed to wake up.

      Put on World Service.

Got a different kind of nightmare.

      Ho hum.

And to add to the tedium there's yet another tedious pointless relentlessly uninteresting staff development meeting next monday.

          Like cider.

          Except with pears instead.

What I want to know is HTF do you get them to ripen?

Bumper crop this year & they're all like bricks.

Other than not being sort of oblong & red, rather they're pear shaped & green.

That is a very good question - my pears rarely get to that juicy stage you get from some types in the supermarket

do you need to pick them and let them ripen or what.... if I do not pick them off the ground the are normally soggy by the time they get mowed when I am doing the grass!

Even extended nuking doesn't seem to soften them much.

I'm doing sommat wrong but I don't know what.

You could club someone to death with some of the damn things.

                      Mine are conference.

At the moment you could build walls with the damn things.

The windfalls have gone wrinkly and they're no closer to being ripe than when I picked them up.
