On the train home, the nurse from the nursing home phoned up about ZeitPater.
Naturally, just as the signal dropped out due to being in a cutting.
Apparently the doctor wants his bloods analysing.
Whatever that means.
ZeitPater ate a little more today.
Ho fecking hum.
And since I was driving the car home, I forgot about a) buying some skimmed milk from Tesco and b) buying next week's Radio Times from the post office on the corner.
Bolognaise is simmering gently. I'd already got the onions frying and assorted other ingredients prepared when I realised the mince (use by date: today) had gone a slightly grey colour and didn't smell very appetising, so I went down the Co-op and got some that was a bit fresher.
I need to keep reminding myself that the ancient fridge struggles to keep its temperature, and that of its contents, down during warm spells. I often knock a couple of days off the use by date just to be safe, but for some reason I forgot this time
