I would offer potentially helpful suggestions if I had any, but I haven't so I won't

There we are, lamb roasted to a turn, rice pud slightly overdone again, but recoverable.

The addition of a few stewed (red) gooseberries to the pud was nice.

The greyness has lifted a little.

The bowels, in the meantime, appear not overly pleased at the consumption of the meal.

Just been on the phone to my parents. My mum asked how the budget would affect me. After I'd explained all the ins and outs of expenses and dividends and whatnot, she just said "Well, there's no point worrying about any of it; we've lived long enough to know that they'll just do whatever they want, and we just have to get on with things." She ought to try telling that to some of the borderline hysterics in General

          Your mum sounds very wise.

                Roast a-roasting.

Tesco was out of fresh parsnips, so have gone for 'Finest' honey glazed frozen ones. Will see if anyone notices...

Well to ensure the state of my bowels is as dire as ever, I've just had a Pukka steak & kidney pie with some, wait for it, baked beans.

                    I detest parsnips.

Only enjoy them in a nice lamb stew.

                    Never tried them roasted though.

Do they go in with the meat or what?

                      Found this rather amusing:
