That's the car dropped off for its MOT, and a nice ten-minute walk home in fine drizzle. I popped into Sainsbury's Local on the way back (resisting the blandishments of Greggs and the cob shop over the road) to get sausages, and am now going to celebrate being up this early on a Saturday with a cooked breakfast and freshly-ground coffee

You've lost me there SMac.....
I was in Tapped in Leeds last night. Many fine beers were available but my issue with them is the strength. Anything below 5% was hard to find so you end up tulip faced after 4 pints.
I need to get me act together cos in 2 hours I've to be off to the football and the small matter of a days worth of drinking.Comment

I have over paid PAYE by 1p and under paid VAT by 1p which is why everything tally's, but instead of Hector saying I owe 1p they say I owe the full amount for the period!!!!Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.Comment

Just replaced the battery in the car's key. Now waiting for the garage to phone up and say it's passed its MOT and I can come and get it, so I can try it out.
The spare key is a real pain to use, as the lock and unlock buttons have fallen out (before I ever owned it) and the remaining holes with the tiny switches at the bottom are too narrow and deep for my fingersComment
