No sign of the cat this evening.
I wonder where he's gone this time.
Maybe he really was an escapee from the vets. (It's at the top of the road and we've had one or two before).Comment

On which moderately depressing note I'm off to bed.
Just discovered that my nephew's wife's dad has had a heart attack.
Still with us, but I bet it's gonna screw Xmas.
Again.
Ho hum.
Night all.

Christmas is an odd time of year with its mandatory merriment.
Feeling a bit DITD (down in the dumps) myself.
Best to remind ourselves that probably 50% of the jolliness is fake, and, unless you're spending it with kids below the age of 12, or people that both a) you like and b) you don't normally spend time with, it's unlikely to be more than a pretence.
Right now I have exactly no Christmas food (I lie, there's some out of date sprouts in the freezer), and am still lacking sufficient presents to ensure that all (adult and near adult) children feel equally loved. ms#5 is inconsiderate enough to have a birthday on Christmas Eve which adds to the pressure.
Mon and Tue next week are blocked out with mother's hospital appointments, so it might well yet be turkey twizzlers and oven chips.Comment

And on that cheery note, I'm off to bed.
